Once You're In

Your first steps, in order

Step 0 · Self-Managed and Dedicated only

Deploy Orbit in Your Environment

GitLab.com partners skip this step. For Self-Managed partners, the program starts here: getting Orbit running on your infrastructure is the first thing we do together. Your infrastructure team and GitLab engineers work side by side through install and validation. Dedicated deployments are operated by GitLab. Once the graph is live, continue at Step 1.

Step 1

Onboard

On GitLab.com, enable Orbit on your group, verify indexing, and connect Duo and/or your external agents through the glab CLI or MCP. Most partners finish in under an hour. Deployed partners continue here after Step 0.

Step 2

Run Your First Queries

Six validated scenarios to run as A/B tests in Duo and/or your external agent. Pick the ones closest to your committed use cases and confirm the graph reflects your world.

Install the A/B Test skill once (Claude Code), then run each scenario with /orbit-ab-test "your question": mkdir -p .claude/skills/orbit-ab-test && curl -fsSL -o .claude/skills/orbit-ab-test/SKILL.md https://orbit-dp-program-3fc9a6.gitlab.io/resources/orbit-ab-test-skill.md
Step 3

Submit Feedback

Post the reports the skill writes for you. The guide covers what feedback to send, where it goes, how to redact before posting publicly, and how fast we respond.
